ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

 

A festival that aims to nurture potential in every musician for musical excellence.

 

This festival is a 3-days long intensive music making programme. You will have the opportunity to showcase your talent in front of international renowned Adjudicating Panel, collaborate with other instrumentalists, participate in workshops, perform in a Gala Concert and also in a Winners' Concert that will be held in Singapore.

 

Registration deadline is 10th March 2020.

ACTIVE PARTICIPANT

 

Becoming an active participant allows the participant to perform in our festival in front of international renowned Adjudicating Panel. Other than receiving a trophy and certificate of participation, the Active Participant will also earn an opportunity to participate in all workshops, to perform in our Gala Concert and to perform in Singapore in May 2020 (provided if participant or his/her teacher is holding Quatre Associate Membership or Quatre Life Membership).

 

PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES – SOLO PERFORMANCE/CHAMBER PERFORMANCE

 

CATEGORY 1 - SOLO PERFORMANCE:

 

Willing individuals who would like to perform in our festival are required to sign up and register to become a Solo Active Participant (SAP).

 

Then, you will need to purchase one of the performance slot options that best fits to your desired performance duration:

a) IDR 500.000 for 5 minutes
b) IDR 800.000 for 10 minutes

 

If your program duration exceed a single slot, you can purchase multiple performance slots.

 

There is no age-limit to become SAP as the purpose of the festival is to promote and encourage music performance.

 

This category is limited to only the following solo instruments:

  • Piano

  • Violin

  • Voice

*Violin and voice can be accompanied by the piano and the accompanist must be provided by the soloist.

Only composed pieces with written scores are allowed to be performed in the festival.

 

Performer can play with or without the music score.

 

Each time-slot cannot be shared between 2 or more SAP.

​

Only one SAP will be judged within the performance time-slot(s).

 

Timekeeping of each performance slot will be strictly adhered.

 

The organising committee reserves the right, at its discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these rules and regulations at any time and within reason, where they see fit and necessary.

 

 

CATEGORY 2 - CHAMBER PERFORMANCE:

 

Individuals who are keen to perform as a group in the festival, all group members must sign up as Chamber Active Participants (CAP).

 

The group will need to purchase one of the performance slot options that best fits to your group’s desired performance duration (excluding setup):

a) IDR 400.000 for 5 minutes per person
b) IDR 700.000 for 10 minutes per person

 

If your group’s program duration exceed a single slot, you can purchase multiple performance slots.

​

There is no age-limit to become CAP as the purpose of the festival is to promote and encourage music performance.

 

As this is a chamber music category, the instruments performed can include, and not limited to:

  • Violin and Piano duo

  • Voice and Piano duo

  • Piano Four-Hands

  • Piano Six-Hands

  • Trio, Quartet, et cetera

Performer can play with or without the music score.

PASSIVE PARTICIPANT

 

Passive Participants are entitled to a free-pass to all workshops and a free ticket for the Gala Concert.

 

No age limit.

 

The fee for a passive participant is IDR 500.000.

*The fee for passive participant who is currently teacher or student from Methodist Charles Wesley is IDR 300.000

 

 

QUATRE MEMBERSHIP

 

We are welcoming music enthusiasts to join our membership – Quatre Associate Membership (QAM) or Quatre Life Membership (QLM).

 

By joining our membership, you will get these benefits:

  1. Teachers looking for networking opportunities and support will find fellow teachers in our local music teaching community

  2. Members enjoy special rates or free entrance for Music Platform, Workshops, Gala concert and other events organised by Quatre Music Organization.

  3. Members' students can stand to gain benefits such as opportunity to perform in Singapore for Platinum award winners.

  4. If a member sign more than 10 students up for the Festival, he/she will be entitled with free membership for the following year.

 

Requirements:

  1. Holders of any recognized degree or diploma in music who is above the age of 18.

  2.  Any person who is not qualified under (i) above who shall satisfy the Committee that he/she is competent by having received a proper and recognized training in the musical profession, subject to his being a professional and practicing music teacher above the age of 18.

 

Application fee:

  • Quatre Associate Membership is IDR 500.000 per ONE year

  • Quatre Life Membership is IDR 5.000.000 for lifetime

 

Annual Subscriptions shall be paid in advance and shall be due by the 31st January each year. Any Member whose annual subscription remains unpaid on the 31st January shall receive notice and if such annual subscription still unpaid on 31st March, Member will automatically cease to be a member. If he/she wishes to be re-instated as a Member, he/she must re-apply to be a Member.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

 

  • The registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable.

  • The Quatre Music Organization reserves the right to cancel the event or any categories if due to insufficient participants or any unforeseen circumstances. As such, the registration fee will be refunded.

  • The participants consent to allowing the organiser to record all or part of the Festival and related activities for broadcast and promotional purposes without any payment to the participant. The participants will grant the organiser the exclusive rights to the recorded materials and pictures.

  • Participants who fail to process the payment before the deadline will be considered disqualified.

  • Participants must report to the Festival’s ushers at the REPORTING TIME stated by the organisers. Participants who arrive later than their scheduled time may be disqualified.

  • Participants and supporters of participants shall not communicate with or seek influence over the Adjudicating Panel.

  • Participants shall only perform according to the duration of performance that he/she has purchased. The Adjudicating Panel own the rights to stop the performance, if it happens to exceed the time limits. As such, the performer may be disqualified to be considered to play for the Gala Night and Singapore concert.

  • The decisions of the Adjudicating Panel are final. Thus, no discussion or correspondence will be entertained.

  • The participants agree to indemnify the organiser against any injuries or damages occurred at the Festival.

  • The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Information, Rules, Terms and Condition of the Festival without prior notice. It is the participant’s responsibility to check the websites regularly for updates and announcements.
